Built in 1882, the Claflin Block has a long history as an important commercial address in the heart of downtown Lowell. The cast-iron storefront columns and granite lintels make for an impressive façade. Its arched window heads and patterned brick parapet are Queen Anne-style details favored in its day. Today, the Claflin Block boasts 14 residential units along with street-level commercial space. It is located at 58 Prescott Street, overlooking the junction of the Pawtucket and Eastern canals in Lowell’s historic district. With the Claflin Block restoration, we’ve written another chapter in the colorful and rich history of our story as developers. Two units are available in this distinctive residence.
